Kristianstad’s flagship Hotel Christian IV becomes part of Strawberry. The hotel, which was originally built to become the city’s new bank in 1901, is now being renovated to open under a new flag on April 1, 2025, and become part of the Clarion Collection hotel chain.
Located in the heart of Kristianstad and 100 meters from the train and bus station, Hotel Christian IV is a popular choice for those who want to spend the night in eastern Skåne. The attractiveness is not diminished by the fact that the hotel literally oozes history. Among other things, the bank’s history is remembered by the fact that the old bank vault is now used as a wine cellar. And it is precisely the history of the building that is now being built on.

The hotel’s 86 hotel rooms, conference rooms and other areas have been renovated for some time to open on April 1, 2025 as part of Strawberry’s Nordic hotel chain Clarion Collection. The new addition to Strawberry is the result of a larger collaboration with the hotel operator company Gest Hotels, which operates 14 hotels around Scandinavia.

Clarion Collection Hotel is one of the Nordic region’s largest hotel chains with 53 hotels and almost 6,000 hotel rooms in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
